7th Pay Commission Dress Allowance Rules for Central Government Employees
Dress Allowance Eligibility
Generally, the payment of Dress Allowance shall be paid in the month of July only. Employees joining service during July to December of the previous calendar year shall get full Dress Allowance in the next calendar year. Those who join after December will be entitled to half of the Dress Allowance in July of the year.
The 7th Pay Commission recommended all uniform-related allowances viz.
- Clothing Allowance
- Initial Equipment Allowance
- Kit Maintenance Allowance
- Robe Allowance
- Robe Maintenance Allowance
- Shoe Allowance
- Uniform Allowance and
- Washing Allowance
which have been subsumed in a single Dress Allowance.
Dress Allowance in Railways
Dress Allowance for Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) after 7th Pay Commission:
- Officers in RPF and RPSF: Rs. 20,000 per annum
- Station Masters of Indian Railways: Rs. 210.000 per annum
- Trackmen, Running Staff of Indian Railways: Rs. 5,00 per annum
Dress Allowance in Defence
- Personnel Below Officer Rank (PBOR): Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Special Protection Group (SPG) Operational: Rs, 27,800 per annum
- Special Protection Group (SPG) Non-Operational: Rs, 21,225 per annum
- Army, Navy, Air Force Officers: Rs. 20,000 per annum
- CAPF, CPO, IPS, Coast Guard Officers: Rs. 20,000 per annum
- MNS Officers, DANIPS/ACP Delhi Police: Rs. 15,000 per annum
Dress Allowance in Other Departments
- Staff Car Drivers, MTS, Canteen staff: Rs. 5,000 per annum
- Executive Staff of Customs: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Central Excise and Narcotics Department: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Officers of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS): Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Legal Officers in NIA: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Bureau of Immigration Personal: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Police Forces of UT: Rs. 10,000 per annum
- Indian Coast Guard: Rs. 10,000 per annum
Dress Allowance for Nurses
- Staff Nurses: Rs. 21,600 per annum
The rates of Dress Allowance will go up by 25% each time Dearness Allowance rises by 50%
