Diwali & Naraka Chaturdasi Proviso
In 2027, Diwali falls on Friday, October 29, 2027. In states where the traditional practice favors celebrating a day earlier on Naraka Chaturdasi Day, Central Government offices within that state are permitted to swap the holiday to October 28, provided the local State Government has officially designated Naraka Chaturdasi as the primary compulsory Diwali holiday.
