AICPIN for August for the month of 2023 | Expected DA from January 2024
The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, has recently released the All India Consumer Price Index Numbers (AICPIN-IW) for August 2023. These numbers indicate a decrease of 0.5 points compared to July 2023, serving as a measure of inflation for industrial workers. The AICPIN-IW for August 2023 is recorded at 139.2 points, with a base year of 2016=100 and 1960=100. These figures suggest that there may be an adjustment in the Dearness Allowance (DA) in January 2024.

In August 2023, the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) in India witnessed a decline of 0.5 points, resulting in a value of 139.2. This decrease represents a 0.36% decline compared to the previous month, while there was a 0.23% increase compared to the same month in the previous year.

The calculation of the expected Dearness Allowance (DA) for January 2024 will begin with the next installment and will be based on the data collected from the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPIN) from July to December 2023. This calculation will be concluded by December 2023.
