What is 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix Table?
Pay Matrix is a number table designed by 7th Central Pay Commission and recommended for all group of Central Government Employees and Officers with effect from 1.1.2016.
Pay Matrix Table contains 18 Pay Levels Horizontal range and 40 Index in Vertical range with total number of 540 cells.
Pay Matrix Table is Fixation Table for revision of pay, increment and promotion fixation. Pay fixation on Promotion and Increment calculation is very with this table.
This table is used for more than 30 lakh employees and officers working in Central Government Services.
6th Pay Commission recommended Grade Pay system with running pay band. 7th CPC abolished the Grade Pay system and created a single unique fixation table.
The Pay Matrix Table shows Pay Levels from 1 to 18 in Horizontal range in which each level corresponds to a “Functional Role in the Hierarchy”. The Pay Levels are being the status determiner.
Index level in vertical range from 1 to 40 (Maximum) denotes Pay Progression within that level. These progression indicates the steps of 3% Annual Increment.
In Pay Level, the starting point is the Minimum Pay. For Pay Level – 1, Rs. 18000 is the Minimum Pay.
