7th CPC Pay Structure for Service Officers and JCO/ORs. Pay Matrix Level 12A for Armed Force Defence Personnel as per 7th Pay Commission. The Pay Matrix designed for the defence forces personnel is more compact than the civil pay matrix keeping in view the number of levels, age and retirement profile of the service personnel.
Pay levels corresponding to the existing GP 3400, GP 5700, GP 6100, GP 6600, GP 7600, GP 8000, GP 8400, GP 8700, GP 8900 and GP 9000 are unique to defence forces personnel.

Defence Pay Matrix DA Table Level 12A
Military Service Pay (MSP) and Group-X Pay shall be counted as pay for the purpose of computation of Dearness Allowance only. 34 per cent of Basic Pay (Add if eligible MSP and Group-X Pay) as Dearness Allowance for Armed Forces Personnel with effect from 1.1.2022.
Military Service Pay
MSP shall be admissible on drawl of pay in the prescribed pay matrix level in the 7th CPC pay matrix table, at the rate of Rs. 15500 for Honorary Commissioned Officers, and Rs. 5200 for all Junior Commissioned Officers/ Other Ranks.
Group-X Pay
Group-X Pay is a fixed amount admissible to a Junior Commissioned Officer and Other Ranks of Group-X. The. Pay matrix levels for same ranks in trade Group-X and trade Group-Y shall be same. Group-X pay shall be admissible on drawl of pay in the prescribed pay level in the Pay matrix table. A higher rate of Rs. 6200 for Group-X trades which requires a qualification equivalent to a diploma recognised by All India Council for Technical Education. A lower rate of Rs. 3600 for Other Group-X trades, but not having a technical education recognised by AICTE.
