The AICPIN, or All-India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, measures the cost of goods and services consumed by industrial workers in India.

This index is determined by a selection of essential items like food, clothing, housing, fuel, etc.

The Indian government uses the AICPIN scores to determine the Dearness Allowance (DA) paid to workers, in order to address the impact of inflation on their compensation.

The AICPIN report for February 2023 will be issued on Friday, March 31, 2023, and we’ll provide updates once the report is available. As per the latest figures for February 2023, there has been a 0.5 point increase representing a 0.38% rise compared to the previous month and a 0.24% decrease from the same period in the previous year.
